Black ash (Fraxinus nigra) has cultural and spiritual significance to many Tribal Nations in the US and First Nations in Canada, but unfortunately is also the most highly preferred and vulnerable host of emerald ash borer (EAB) in North America. Tune in to learn more about black ash, its importance to cultural lifeways of Indigenous people, and the ongoing efforts to mitigate the impacts of the EAB invasion on this cultural keystone species.
