Help promote the professional practice of arboriculture to foster a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.

Membership Types

Professional Membership

Professional membership shall be open to anyone in good standing with the Wisconsin Arborist Association who wishes to improve the understanding of trees and the practice of arboriculture.

Student Membership

Open to students enrolled in high school or college.  Apprentices are considered Professional Members.

Honorary Life Membership

Honorary membership shall be conferred by majority vote of the Board of Directors upon any individual who has served the purposes of the Wisconsin Arborist Association with distinction or who has made a significant contribution to the science or practice of arboriculture.

Members Will:

  • Strive for continuous self-development and technical proficiency by staying abreast of 
technological and scientific developments affecting the profession.

  • Not misuse or omit material facts in promoting technical information, products, or services if the effect would be to mislead or misrepresent.

  • Hold paramount the safety and health of all people, and endeavor to protect property and the environment in the performance of professional responsibilities.

  • Subscribe to fair and honest business practices in dealing with clients, suppliers, employees and other professionals.

  • Support the improvement of professional services and products through encouraging research and development.

  • Observe the standards and promote adherence to the ethics embodied in this code.

Continuing Education

WAA partners with WDNR Urban Forestry each year for an Annual Conference and Trade Show, offering 3 days of educational sessions, hands-on training, and networking opportunities. ISA Certified arborists: This is a great way to earn continuing education units (CEUs).

Tree Climbing Event

As a WAA member, you will be eligible to participate in the WAA annual Tree Climbing Competition. You will also have the opportunity to compete in the ISA TCC, or one of our annual Day of Service events which provides free tree work to well-deserving organizations. ISA Certified arborists: This is a great way to earn continuing education units (CEUs).
