Free TREE Fund Webinar: A simple technique for online street tree inventories – is it right for my community?

April 21, 2020 @ 12:00 pm

Street tree inventories are fundamentally important for municipal urban forest management, but collecting and maintaining inventory data is expensive and time-consuming. So we asked the question, “Can we generate high-quality data about street trees remotely using online street-level photos?” This presentation discusses the level of detail and data quality associated with virtual surveys conducted using Google Street View. Attendees will learn about some pros and cons of these virtual surveys, and consider whether this simple online technique might be useful for generating street tree data in their own communities.
