The Village of Howard is seeking an applicant for a full-time Public Works Laborer.

The Village of Howard is a growing suburb located on the northwest side of the Green Bay Metro area and is a short 10-minute drive to Lambeau Field, a 45-minute drive to Door County and less than 2.5 hours to Madison, and Milwaukee.  Howard is a vibrant community of 20,000 residents with well-established neighborhoods, growing commercial base, wonderful parks and an exceptional school system.

The successful applicant will be the lead worker when tree planting(200+ annually), tree pruning, and tree removals(rigging experience is a plus).  Park maintenance(soccer field/ball diamond maintenance, trail maintenance, and park facility maintenance) is part of the duties of this position.

The successful applicant will perform the duties including construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, snow removal, arboriculture, landscaping and other Public Works activities and work.  Must be reliable and capable of repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 75lbs.  Ability to work in confined spaces, saddle climbing, landscaping, seasonal staff management and pesticide application in all weather conditions.

A minimum of one year of experience in public works or a related field and some experience operating trucks and construction equipment is required.  Urban Forestry training/education will be considered in lieu of the one year of experience in public works.  Tree pruning and removal experience is preferred.  Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and must possess a Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
