Nominations and Awards
"Opportunity is missed by most people
because it is dressed in overalls and
looks like work" Thomas A. Edison
Our opportunity to recognize the people who have truly made a difference in
arboriculture takes place at our annual conference. This is our chance
to
show appreciation, enlighten membership and inspire from within. Over
the
years, we have learned of numerous Arbor Day projects, educational efforts,
met awesome individuals from communities of all sizes, just to name a few.
Please take the time to think about worthy people or projects, then take
the next 'opportunity' by actually nominating them.
Also, consider how you may help others within our organization. Would you consider serving on a committee, or as a member of our Board of Directors?
WAA Board Members are anxious to speak with
you. Please share your thoughts, and better yet ‘volunteer’ to get involved as a volunteer for ‘WAA’s Day of Service’, or by serving on a committee.
WAA Board of Director Elections took place at the Annual Business Meeting on Monday, Feb 8, 2010 in Green Bay, WI. Newly elected Membership Representatives are Larry Axlen, and Ian Brown. Ed Bodus was elected to serve as Treasurer, and Nick Crawford will serve as the new Vice President and Program Chair.
