Position: Urban Forestry Arborist Apprentice
The City of Milwaukee's Urban Forestry Arborist Apprentice Program consists of 7,000 hours (approximately 3.5 years) and includes 6,560 hours of on-the-job learning and 440 hours of paid related instruction encompassing all aspect of tree care, from planting and pruning to managing diseases and insects. This comprehensive program prepares Arborist Apprentices to become Urban Forestry Specialists (Journey Worker Arborists) working for the City of Milwaukee.

High School Diploma or HSED
Current salary range for City of Milwaukee residents is $33,401-$45,666 annually, and the non-resident salary range is $32,582-$44,545.
Upon passing probation, employees will earn 42,188 ($41,153 non-residents).
In addition, employees may earn additional 1% or 2% for holding specific certifications, up to $47,985 ($46,808 non-residents).
